| Leveraging Satellites for Emergency Communications |
| The three major wireless carriers have each entered into agreements with satellite providers to offer secondary coverage from space (SCS) in areas that may fall outside of terrestrial mobile network coverage. T-Mobile was the first to commercially launch the service in July 2025, though it did allow customers to trial the service prior to that. This session will explore how SCS can be leveraged for emergency communications. The discussion will focus on 911 and Wireless Emergency Alerts and how satellite communications can act as a complement to terrestrial wireless networks to provide these critical lifesaving services. |
