Towards Autonomous Networks with Network Foundation Model and Network Digital Twin
An autonomous network, capable of self-management, self-optimization, and self-healing, represents the future of network evolution. AI-based intelligence underpins autonomous networks and the plethora of different network functions that are required to manage large scale networks. We are leveraging Network Foundation Models (NFMs) and digital twins to enable scalable AI-based autonomous networks. The Network Foundation Model (NFM) is a large-scale, pre-trained AI model trained using massive amounts of diverse network data to learn patterns and relationships within the network data. The NFM is designed to be adapted for a wide range of specific tasks, thereby enabling rapidly delivered ML-based automation for scalable autonomous network functions. The Network Digital Twin is a real-time, high-fidelity virtual replica of a specific physical network enabling robust, risk-free simulations for hypothesis testing and predictive analysis. In this presentation, we will discuss AI-based autonomous networks, NFM and the digital twin with a focus on the Radio Access Network (RAN).
